Factor Quadratic Trinomial Example 1

Here is an example of how to factor a quadratic trinomial.  Remember to read the lesson on this topic.

Basic steps to follow:

1. First understand that you may not be able to factor a polynomial- i.e. the polynomial is prime
2. Next there are a few common methods to factoring trinomials- master the method you like the most
3. Trinomials that have a 1 as there leading coefficent are easier to factor than polynomials with a number other than 1 as there leading coeffcient
4. It is always a good idea to check your factoring using the FOIL method as you learn to master factoring
