In this lesson I will introduce you to the topic of matrices. I don’t know how much you know about matrices but the topic is huge in mathematics. Let me just get right to it and give you a quick definition of what a matrix is- a matrix is nothing more than a way to organize information by rows and columns. An example of a matrix would be a spreadsheet like those used in Microsoft Excel because we have data stored by rows and columns. However any table that has information in rows and columns can be considered a matrix. Also matrices are related to systems of equations- you will see this in later lessons. In this video I will explain the parts of a matrix and give you some new vocabulary that you want to remember. Like I said there is a lot to study when it comes to the topic of matrices so take it one lesson at a time.
